Softball Recap: West Forsyth Victorious

West Forsyth won the last time they faced Dawson County and things went their way on Monday too. The Wolverines came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 10-5. With that win, the Wolverines brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Elizabeth Bare spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Liv Bootcheck was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Tenley Lynch was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Forsyth kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got West Forsyth back to even at 7-7. As for Dawson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, West Forsyth will venture away from home to challenge Sequoyah at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dawson County, they will welcome Greater Atlanta Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
