Basketball Recap: Aubrey Neavins' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Erie over Mercyhurst Prep

Erie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-35 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers. That's two games in a row now that the Royals have lost by exactly three points.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Neavins, who posted 14 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Draya Neavins, who scored 13 points.

Erie's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Erie has already played their next game, a 50-37 win against McDowell on the 10th. As for Mercyhurst Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 38-35 victory against Central Tech on the 8th.
