Softball Recap: Mangum Tigers vs. Union City Tigers
Mangum had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Union City on Saturday. Mangum put the hurt on Union City with a sharp 10-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Mangum considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Paelyn Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Giselle Rowell was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hallie Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
