Softball Recap: Mangum Has No Trouble Against Union City

Mangum had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Union City on Saturday. Mangum put the hurt on Union City with a sharp 10-1 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Mangum considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Paelyn Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Giselle Rowell was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Hallie Smith also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Mangum was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
