Football Recap: Dane Weber's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chaparral over Mission Viejo + How To Watch

After flying high against Great Oak last Friday, Chaparral came back down to earth. The Pumas took a hard 36-21 fall against the Mission Viejo Diablos on Friday. The contest marked the Pumas' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Chaparral's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dane Weber, who threw for 215 yards and two TDs while completing 76% of his passes, and also rushed for 77 yards.

It was another big night for Luke Fahey, who threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores for Mission Viejo. The dominant performance also gave Fahey a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Mission Viejo's leading receiver Jack Junker was Fahey's top target yet again, picking up 67 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Chaparral now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Mission Viejo, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaparral will face off against Vista Murrieta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Pumas' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Mission Viejo, they will take on Long Beach Poly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jackrabbits will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Diablos surely won't give up without a fight.
