Baseball Recap: Berwyn/Cicero Morton Comes Up Short

Berwyn/Cicero Morton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Oak Park-River Forest Huskies, falling 12-2. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Johangel Castrillo was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles were his first of the season.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Oak Park-River Forest, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-5.

Coming up, Berwyn/Cicero Morton will take on Addison Trail at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oak Park-River Forest, they will head out to take on Maine South at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
