Baseball Recap: Three Straight Home Victories for Westside

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Burke County, Westside was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 11-7 win over the Baldwin Braves. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their one-run performance the game before.

The team relied heavily on Justin Lampkin, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. Broxton Franklin was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Westside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Baldwin only posted an OBP of .323.

Westside's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Baldwin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-14.

Coming up, Westside will venture away from home to square off against Thomson at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Baldwin, they will welcome the Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
