Football Recap: Elgin/Pope John Comes Up Short at Home Against Burwell

Elgin/Pope John unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 47-12 loss at the hands of the Burwell Longhorns. The Wolfpack were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.

Although Elgin/Pope John took the loss, they still got scores from Karson Kallhoff and Grady Drueke.

Looking ahead, Elgin/Pope John will head out to challenge Walthill at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Burwell, they will be playing at home against St. Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
