Football Game Preview: Eagle Rock Eagles vs. Franklin Panthers

The Eagle Rock Eagles will take on the Franklin Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Eagle Rock's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Eagle Rock is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Lincoln: they outscored them in every quarter. The Eagles blew past the Tigers 35-14 on Friday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Eagles had established a 20-point advantage.

Meanwhile, Franklin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 41-21 margin over the Barristers. Considering the Panthers have won three games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Franklin's win came from a few key players Eagle Rock will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Harold Jackson, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Albert Cardenas, who threw for 193 yards and one touchdown while completing 81.2% of his passes.

Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Eagle Rock, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Eagle Rock beat Franklin 42-35 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
