Soccer Game Preview: Walden Grove vs. Ironwood Ridge

Walden Grove is 0-3 against Ironwood Ridge since December of 2015 but things could change on Saturday. The Walden Grove Red Wolves will square off against the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks at 2:00 p.m. Walden Grove's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Walden Grove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Greenway a 1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Red Wolves have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ironwood Ridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Coconino on Wednesday.

Ironwood Ridge pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven matchups. As for Walden Grove, their record now sits at 8-6.

Walden Grove suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ironwood Ridge in their previous meeting back in January. Can Walden Grove avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
