Mays is 0-3 against Pace Academy since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Mays Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Pace Academy Knights at 5:55 p.m. Mays has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
Mays managed to slip by M.L. King the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Mays lost 11-5 to M.L. King on Thursday. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Andre Brown was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. TyReon Byner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pace Academy made easy work of Creekside on Wednesday and carried off an 18-2 victory. Considering the Knights have won three matches by more than eight runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Dylan Nelson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miles Mador, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Pace Academy is undefeated when Mador posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. Alston Mallis also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Pace Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The win made it two in a row for Pace Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-6. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 4.5 in the others. As for Mays, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mays has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pace Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Mays might still be hurting after the 17-1 loss they got from Pace Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2022. Can Mays avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
