Baseball Recap: Dunellen Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Dunellen had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Keansburg Titans. That's more bragging rights for the Destroyers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Joseph Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Cole Mayer was excellent, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cesar Fermin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Dunellen's record is now 17-6. As for Keansburg, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Coming up, Dunellen will be taking part in a tournament against Perth Amboy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Keansburg, they will be playing at home against Timothy Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
