Softball Recap: Rampart Gets the Win

Rampart's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Coronado Cougars as they made off with a 20-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Addison Jensen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 15 over seven innings pitched. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Jacie Edelen was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI. Victoria Kendall was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs.

Rampart's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Coronado, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rampart will venture away from home to take on Vista Ridge at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coronado, they will head out to challenge Woodland Park at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
