Basketball Recap: Wood Takes a Loss

Wood suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2024 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 63-18 loss at the hands of the Vanden Vikings. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Wood lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyrene Palmer, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Abigail Ward, who had five points.

Vanden's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from La'Miracle Lebon, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Rochell, who earned 18 points and five rebounds.

Wood is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10. As for Vanden, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

Wood will host Rodriguez at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Vanden, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 86-9 victory against Weston Ranch on the 11th.
