Recap: Sacramento Dragons vs. El Camino Eagles
The Sacramento Dragons were the 37-36 winner over the El Camino Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Sacramento fell 54-42 to El Camino on Friday. Sacramento has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Sacramento lost, one person who can't be blamed is La ne Dunn. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That was a full 57.1% of Sacramento's points, marking the 14th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of E'Myiah Morris, who scored five points along with four steals.
Noelle Potratz was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 18 rebounds for El Camino. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Potratz has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kiena Thomas, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Sacramento has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for El Camino, they now have a winning record of 12-11.
Sacramento will head out on the road to challenge Natomas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for El Camino, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Campo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Del Campo has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
