Basketball Recap: Juliette Leonard Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat College Park

Monte Vista won the last time they faced College Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Monte Vista Mustangs put the hurt on the College Park Falcons with a sharp 48-25 win.

Monte Vista's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Juliette Leonard led the charge by going 9 of 11 on her way to 18 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Leonard a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Whyte, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards.

College Park lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Gianna Labao, who posted seven points.

Monte Vista now has a winning record of 2-1. As for College Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Monte Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-66 defeat against Washington on the 6th. As for College Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 48-27 victory against Livermore on the 6th.
