Basketball Game Preview: Pinewood Panthers vs. Menlo School Knights

Pinewood has gone 10-0 against Menlo School recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Pinewood Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Menlo School Knights at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Menlo School will be up against a hot Pinewood squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Pinewood blew past Notre Dame 70-36 on Tuesday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 games by 22 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vallory Kuelker, who went 7 of 16 en route to 22 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Kuelker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katherine Garr, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 17 points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Menlo School strolled past Sacred Heart Prep with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 59-40. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Gators are ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pinewood pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.6 points. As for Menlo School, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-6.

Pinewood took their victory against Menlo School in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 72-49. Will Pinewood repeat their success, or does Menlo School have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
