Basketball Recap: Orosi Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, Orosi rose to the challenge on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 32-29 victory over the Taft Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cardinals have posted since January 31, 2024.

Taft lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shelby Gregory, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. That was a full 48.3% of Taft's points, marking the fourth time in a row Gregory has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Alli Swearengin, who put up four points and ten rebounds.

Orosi's victory bumped their record up to 14-15. As for Taft, their loss dropped their record down to 13-11.

Orosi has already played their next match, a 56-31 defeat against Summit Charter Collegiate Academy on the 18th. Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
