Recap: South Pasadena Tigers vs. Glendora Tartans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the South Pasadena Tigers had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They snuck past the Tartans with a 56-52 victory. The win was familiar territory for South Pasadena who now have four in a row.
Leading South Pasadena to victory were Kayla Boozer and Dylan Tse. Boozer dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds, while Tse scored 22 points. Jamie Rain Kim was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Several Tartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rylie Anderson, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Rebekah Zweerink, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
South Pasadena's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-4. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.4 points. As for Glendora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 24-5.
South Pasadena will take on Flintridge Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Flintridge Prep will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something South Pasadena surely won't give up without a fight. Glendora does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
