Basketball Recap: Delone Catholic Takes a Loss

Delone Catholic and Scranton Prep squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Delone Catholic had to settle for second. They came up short against the Scranton Prep Cavaliers, falling 56-34. While losing is never fun, the Squires can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 11th).

Delone Catholic is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-7. As for Scranton Prep, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Delone Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Scranton Prep, they will square off against Allentown Central Catholic on Wednesday. Scranton Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Allentown Central Catholic likes a good challenge.
