Softball Recap: Crisp Academy's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Crisp Academy was riding high fresh off their 13-0 takedown of Pataula Charter Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats fell just short of the Tiftarea Academy Panthers by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Brynleigh Gravitt spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Laura Evans made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Crisp Academy fell to 2-1.

Coming up, Crisp Academy will challenge Terrell Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Tiftarea Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' match: after the Wildcats face off against Fitzgerald, they'll take on Tiftarea Academy again at 6:00 p.m. on the 19th.
