Softball Game Preview: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Frederick Golden Eagles

The Silver Creek Raptors will head out to face off against the Frederick Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Silver Creek couldn't beat Lyons on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Raptors came up short against the Lions, falling 14-4. The Raptors' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Frederick came out on top against Pueblo County on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fourth inning. The Golden Eagles walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Hornets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Elayna Fisher spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Ella Stromberg was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. Brealea Stendel was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Frederick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pueblo County only managed seven.

Silver Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Frederick, their record is now 13-5.

Silver Creek might still be hurting after the 13-1 loss they got from Frederick in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
