If Scripps Ranch wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Mater Dei Catholic, they should've done a better job of containing Promise Martin. The Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders walked away with a 47-38 win over the Scripps Ranch Falcons on Saturday thanks to Martin, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 21 rebounds. Martin is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the loss, Scripps Ranch still got an impressive performance from Clare Valentine, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 16 boards. That was a full 44.7% of Scripps Ranch's points, marking the ninth time in a row Valentine has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sammy Cook, who put up eight points.

The victory made it two in a row for Mater Dei Catholic and bumps their season record up to 17-12. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points over those games. As for Scripps Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 18-8.

Coming up, Mater Dei Catholic will square off against Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Victory Christian Academy will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Mater Dei Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. Scripps Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
