Football Recap: Albert Lea Starts Season with Victory Against Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center]

Albert Lea took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center] Titans with a sharp 39-18 victory. The match was close at halftime, but the Tigers turned on the heat in the second half with 18 points.

Among those leading the charge was Easton Schewe, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one TD. Those 89 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Albert Lea didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Layton Yost and Schewe. Yost got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Albert Lea has already played their next contest, a 65-0 win against Austin on the 5th. As for Tri-City United [Montgomery-Lonsdale/Le Center], they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 35-21 defeat against Central on the 5th.
