Basketball Recap: Animo Bunche Takes a Loss

Animo Bunche managed to keep up with Central City Value until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Animo Bunche Stallions lost 37-16 to the Central City Value Jaguars. The Stallions have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central City Value to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natasha Garcia, who posted seven points and 11 steals. Central City Value is 11-4 when Garcia posts three or more steals, but 1-2 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimberly Jacinto, who earned eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals.

Animo Bunche's record is now 5-10. As for Central City Value, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Animo Bunche won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against USC-MAE at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average, (Animo Bunche: 27, USC-MAE: 23.6) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Central City Value, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll face off against Orthopaedic at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central City Value's defense has only allowed 22.5 points per game this season, so Orthopaedic's offense will have their work cut out for them.
