Baseball Recap: Le Roy Takes a Loss

Le Roy extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 10-7. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wayland-Cohocton Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-7 two weeks ago.

As for Wayland-Cohocton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games.

For Wayland-Cohocton's part, the team relied heavily on Orion Walker, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. Walker is becoming a predictor of the Eagles' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 3-7 when he doesn't).

Coming up, Le Roy will square off against East Rochester at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wayland-Cohocton, they will take on Dansville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
