Football Recap: Mira Loma Skates Past Delta with Ease

Mira Loma's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's fourth consecutive shutout on Friday. They blew past the Delta Saints 44-0. Fans of the Matadors have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mira Loma to victory, but perhaps none more so than Keion Kado, who picked up 75 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Deangelo Keys, who threw for 114 yards and three TDs on only nine passes.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Mira Loma proved: they limited Delta to a paltry 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Maxwell Olmstead for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mira Loma didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.2.

Mira Loma didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Wema Kyubwa, Edward Woodie Grant, and Josh Vakarau picked up one apiece.

Mira Loma's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Delta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Mira Loma will head out on the road to face off against San Juan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
