Basketball Recap: Moniteau Comes Up Short on the Road Against Maplewood

Moniteau had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Maplewood Tigers by a score of 43-40.

Despite the defeat, Moniteau saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Charlotte Thompson dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Emily Matz, who posted seven points.

Coming up, Moniteau will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Mercer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Maplewood, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Conneaut Area at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
