Baseball Recap: Dougherty Valley's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Clayton Valley Charter, Dougherty Valley was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past the Hercules Titans 6-5. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ahdil Khan looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Dougherty Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Marriott, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Christopher Bryant Policar, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Dougherty Valley's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hercules, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Dougherty Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against San Leandro on the 4th. As for Hercules, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-3 victory against St. Patrick-St. Vincent on the 1st.
