Softball Game Preview: Columbia Falls Wildcats vs. Libby Loggers

Columbia Falls is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Libby a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Columbia Falls Wildcats will be playing at home against the Libby Loggers at 5:30 p.m. Columbia Falls will be strutting in after a win while Libby will be coming in after a defeat.

Columbia Falls is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Whitefish on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Libby lost 18-8 to Ronan on Tuesday.

Madison Vincent and Dakota Allen did some serious damage despite the final result: Vincent scored a run while going 3-for-5, while Allen went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachel Kosters, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Libby's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Columbia Falls, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything went Columbia Falls' way against Libby in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Columbia Falls made off with a 16-4 win. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Loggers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
