Recap: Sonora Wildcats vs. East Union Lancers
The Sonora Wildcats lost against the East Union Lancers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sonora was the victim of a rough 53-33 loss at the hands of East Union. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sonora in their matchups with East Union: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Sonora still got an impressive performance from Adeline Hanson, who scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Hanson scored a full 54.5% of Sonora's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sonora's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for East Union, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora will take on Amador at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Union, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 700th, while East Union is ranked 137th).
