Softball Recap: Dawson County Tigers vs. Johns Creek Gladiators

The Dawson County Tigers made easy work of the Johns Creek Gladiators on Friday and carried off an 11-3 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Carley Etta Grizzle looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, Sadie Dotson was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Addi Prewitt was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Dawson County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Johns Creek only posted an OBP of .417.

The victory made it two in a row for Dawson County and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Johns Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dawson County will square off against White County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johns Creek, they will take on West Forsyth at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
