Basketball Recap: South Iredell Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 48-16, which was the final score in the South Iredell Vikings's tilt against the Porter Ridge Pirates on Monday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why South Iredell lost, don't look at Destiny Bradford. Despite the final result, she posted seven points.

Porter Ridge got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashanti Taylor out in front who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Taylor also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Miley Malcolm, who earned 14 points and seven boards.

South Iredell now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Porter Ridge, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

South Iredell has already played their next game, a 71-22 defeat against North Mecklenburg on the 28th. As for Porter Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-40 victory against Charlotte Country Day School on the 25th.
