The Wasco Tigers and the California City Ravens will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wasco has three straight victories, California City has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
If Wasco beats California City with 41 points on Thursday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Everything went Wasco's way against Kennedy two weeks ago as Wasco made off with a 41-19 win. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 22 points or more this season.

Wasco found their leader in sophomore Vivian Chavez, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. Chavez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaelynn Juarez, who posted five points.
Meanwhile, California City might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Desert an easy 59-37 victory.
Wasco will have to keep a close watch on Genesis Castillo and Malayah Ward, a pair of players who had a big impact on California City's prior game. Castillo went 8 of 11 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds, while Ward dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Wasco has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.4 points per game. As for California City, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Wasco has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.8 boards per game. However, it's not like California City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
