Baseball Recap: Coldwater Gets the Win

Coldwater took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Portage Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Mustangs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted since April 22nd.

The team relied heavily on Logan Turner, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Mayson Moore also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The win got Coldwater back to even at 12-12-1. As for Portage Central, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Coldwater will challenge Harper Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Portage Central, they will venture away from home to square off against Kalamazoo Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
