Softball Recap: Aurora Central Trojans vs. Denver North Vikings
Aurora Central had lost five straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 0-2 to make it six. They lost 13-0 to the Denver North Vikings. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 16-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Denver North, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games.
For Denver North's part, Xavia Escobedo made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Escobedo was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
In other pitching news, Caidyn Kennedy looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
