Softball Recap: Johns Creek Triumphs

Johns Creek lost to Habersham Central last Wednesday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Gladiators walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gladiators.

Swara Khatri spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, Reese Stiltner was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Lafon, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Johns Creek now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Habersham Central, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Johns Creek and Habersham Central will both be playing Dawson County the next time they take the field. The Raiders will head out to face the Tigers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Gladiators will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
