The Alliance Bulldogs will take on the Sidney Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Alliance's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Chadron on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cardinals and fell 41-0. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Even if they lost, Alliance's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Ethan Schulze, Jett Childers, and Nason Thompson, who each picked up one sack apiece. Caysen Robertson was another major factor on D, making 19 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Sidney put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 46-0 victory over Chase County. The Red Raiders' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
The critical scores for Sidney came from Carter Lipska, Keian Kaiser, Keair Scott, Kyle Jaggers, Kale Kaiser, Alek Doty, and Rhys Dorcey.
Sidney didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Chase County to a completion percentage of just 28.6%. The Red Raiders have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.
Alliance now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Sidney, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Alliance has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 236 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sidney struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 223 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Alliance was dealt a bruising 48-14 defeat at the hands of Sidney when the teams last played back in October of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Bulldogs were down 41-0.
