Basketball Recap: Kennedy Takes a Loss

Kennedy lost against Mission San Jose back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kennedy Titans were dealt a 63-33 loss at the hands of the Mission San Jose Warriors. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Payton Siquig went 8 for 16 on her way to 18 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 54.5% of Kennedy's points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Catherine Cheng was another key player, putting up eight points.

Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mission San Jose, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.

Kennedy will venture away from home to challenge De Anza at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mission San Jose, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
