Football Recap: Shawnee Mission Northwest's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Shawnee Mission Northwest dropped to 2-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Olathe Northwest Ravens by a score of 31-28. The Cougars were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Despite the loss, Shawnee Mission Northwest still got an impressive performance from Traimyre Woodruff, who rushed for 59 yards and two scores.

As for Olathe Northwest, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The win almost wasn't to be: they were down 21-7 in the second quarter.

Leading Olathe Northwest to victory were Bryce Randall and Brody Comfort. Randall rushed for 161 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, while Comfort rushed for 79 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Those 79 rushing yards gave Comfort a new career-high.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Shawnee Mission Northwest will head out to face off against Mill Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Olathe Northwest, they will venture away from home to square off against Shawnee Mission North on Friday. The Ravens will be up against the Bison's rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
