Basketball Recap: Monte Alto Piles Up the Points Against Benavides

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Monte Alto). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 72-29 win over the Benavides Eagles. The Blue Devil not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since January 14th (when they won 88-43).

Benavides' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Dominguez, who posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Perez, who put up seven points.

Monte Alto's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Benavides, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Monte Alto will face off against Vanguard Academy Beethoven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Benavides, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Three Rivers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
