Recap: Cooper Cougars vs. Wylie Bulldogs
After a string of three wins, The Cooper Cougars''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 17-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wylie. Despite 60 more yards than Wylie, Cooper couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Wes Cummins threw for 111 yards on 13 of 29 attempts. Jaden Carrillo was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards. On the ground, Daniel Bray rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.
Cooper's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Wylie, their victory was their eighth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 7-3.
Cooper will square off against Chapin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Carey Wade and Bray. As for Wylie, they will be playing at home against Andress at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Andress will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 880th, while Wylie is ranked 181st).
