Softball Recap: Swainsboro Finds Playoff Glory Versus East Laurens

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Swainsboro had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the East Laurens Falcons. Four seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The win (which was Swainsboro's third in a row) raised their record to 15-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for East Laurens, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-6 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Falcons beat Swainsboro by a score of 2-1 later that day.
