Basketball Recap: Hamilton Comes Up Short

Hamilton lost against Biggs back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hamilton Braves lost 57-32 to the Biggs Wolverines. While losing is never fun, the Braves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1095th, while the Wolverines are ranked 496th).

Defeat or not, Hamilton got some senior leadership from Adriana Olivarez and Milani Rodriguez. Olivarez posted four points and 13 boards, while Rodriguez had six points and nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Rodriguez a new career-high.

Destinee Harriston continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Biggs, almost dropping a triple-double on 18 points, nine assists, and ten steals. Harriston's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Carothers, who scored 11 points and six steals.

Hamilton's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Biggs, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will venture away from home to square off against Williams at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton is facing Williams at the right time seeing as Williams is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. Biggs has already played their next match (against Portola), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
