Baseball Recap: Covington Academy Comes Up Short

Covington Academy fell victim to Young Americans Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Young Americans Christian Eagles. The match marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Covington Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Lowery, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Covington Academy is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Young Americans Christian, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Coming up, Covington Academy will welcome Trinity Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Covington Academy has given up an average of 16.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Young Americans Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Lafayette Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
