Basketball Recap: Clairemont Chieftains vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers
Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. The contest between them and the Mission Bay Buccaneers didn't end well, with the Clairemont Chieftains falling 33-14. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chieftains this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 53-16 back in January.
Leading Mission Bay to victory were Nariah Stewart and Haley Shanks. Stewart posted nine points along with eight boards and three steals, while Shanks went 5 of 11 en route to 11 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Shanks a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (20%). Drema Nava was another key player, putting up no points and three steals.
Clairemont's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Mission Bay, their record is now 4-14.
