University Pathways Medical Magnet waltzed into their match on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came out on top against the Los Angeles Leadership Academy Lions by a score of 39-28.

University Pathways Medical Magnet's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Gianna Benitez led the charge by putting up seven points in addition to 14 rebounds and six steals. Benitez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Mia Munguia was another key player, going 6 of 10 en route to 13 points along with seven boards and five assists.

University Pathways Medical Magnet smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Despite the loss, Los Angeles Leadership Academy still got an impressive performance from Sabrina Quijano, who posted ten points and six steals. Another player making a difference was Zoe Garcia, who scored four points in addition to eight blocks and six rebounds.

University Pathways Medical Magnet pushed their record up to 12-11 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
