Basketball Game Preview: Palm Springs Indians vs. La Quinta Blackhawks

Palm Springs hasn't had much luck against La Quinta recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Palm Springs Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the La Quinta Blackhawks at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Palm Springs took a blow against Shadow Hills, falling 71-15. The match marked the Indians' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Palm Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shayla Bates posted six points and seven rebounds. Bates is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Meanwhile, La Quinta lost to Palm Desert at home by a 47-30 margin on Monday. The Blackhawks have struggled against the Aztecs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

This is the second loss in a row for Palm Springs and nudges their season record down to 13-5. As for La Quinta, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
