Basketball Recap: Maggie Scholze's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Polytechnic over Holy Martyrs Armenian

Polytechnic lost against Holy Martyrs Armenian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell 59-51 to the Armens. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maggie Scholze, who posted ten points and eight boards. Scholze has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Areni Ohanian was another key player, putting up 15 points and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Polytechnic fell to 3-1. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Polytechnic will challenge Immaculate Heart at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Martyrs Armenian, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Grant at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
