Basketball Game Preview: Clarion-Limestone Lions vs. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley

The Clarion-Limestone Lions will venture away from home to take on Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Clarion-Limestone not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since February 7th (when they won 56-17). They were the clear victors by a 54-33 margin over North Clarion. With the Lions ahead 33-13 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Clarion-Limestone's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was HANNAH BEGGS, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds BEGGS has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was CORINNE HEPFL, who shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points along with five assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley blew past Tidioute Charter, posting a 63-17 win.

Clarion-Limestone better focus on containing Raelynn Fletcher and Maddy Dehart as the pair were huge in Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's win. Fletcher went 11-for-18 on her way to 26 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals, while Dehart dropped a double-double with 23 points and 20 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Raschiatore, who had eight points along with six steals and five assists.

Clarion-Limestone has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 52.5 points this season. As for Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
