Soccer Recap: Cristo Rey Picks Up Ninth Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cristo Rey had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Leroy Greene Academy Lions as they made off with a 4-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Cristo Rey, who have now won eight matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Leroy Greene Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Regina Atilano (2), Dulce Capetillo, and Lesley Barron Zavala.

The win (which was Cristo Rey's ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those nine contests. As for Leroy Greene Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7-1.
